Mark Watt AM

Director – Social Engine.

Mark has always believed “every young person should have equal opportunities in life regardless of their circumstances”. With this in mind he co- founded Whitelion, a national not for profit organisation established in 1999 to provide transition services to young people exiting the justice system. Over twenty years serving as CEO Mark grew Whitelion to the organisation it is today.

Still with the same driving belief Mark has turned his focus to social enterprise in the role of director for Social Engine. Mark is also the CEO of In2life and Big Brothers Big Sisters Australia.

Mark has a Masters in Social Work and holds a Bachelor of Business. He holds a number of community leadership positions including being the chair Surrender Australia, the ‘First Step’ Program and is the deputy Chair of Afri-Aus Care.

Mark has a deep passion and commitment to supporting disadvantaged and ‘at risk’ young people and was awarded the Robin Clark Memorial Award in 2005 in recognition of excellence in the category of ‘Making a Difference to Children, Young People and Families’.

Mark was appointed a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia “for significant service to the community, particularly to disadvantaged and at-risk youth, through social welfare support organisations“.

Colin Stimpson

Director – Social Engine.

“I want to invigorate the social procurement ecosystem to create real jobs for people experiencing disadvantage in Australia.”

Colin Stimpson is an Associate Director, Impact Investing at Social Ventures Australia (SVA) focussing on long term social procurement strategy, activating impactful industry/corporate social procurement plans and providing targeted capacity building that significantly scales up social enterprises.

Colin draws on his extensive business experience building, operating and directing small, medium and large organisations in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors.

Working in a broad range of local and international managerial roles in the industrial sector for over 25 years, Colin has nurtured a personal passion to elevate the purpose of business beyond commercial goals and deliver real social impact by founding and operating PAWS Fulfilment Pty Limited in 2013 and now leading Social Engine into a new and exciting growth phase.
